Dairy sector experienced a period of crisis all over the European Union last year and the year before last: the buying-in price of milk has been decreasing continuously and drastically as a result of which the producers have accumulated considerable losses in most of the member states. National milk market suffered from this tendency as well. The amount of hoarded milk decreased by more than 5 percent in Hungary last year and the buying-in price fell by more than 25 percent in comparison with 2008.
